BLACK (BL) ORPINGTON

Orpingtons developed by William Cook in the 1800’s and named from the Town of Orpington, Kent, England. Their Dark Black fluffy feathers are stunning and they are super loving gentle for such a big size heritage breed. BL means they carry both the black and self-blue lavender genes. If you breed them again, they have a 50% chance they breed true of all black or 25% will be all lavender, if you breed two lavenders over again, they will continue to produce only lavenders.
