COLUMBIAN WYANDOTTE
Large fowl named after the Wendat tribe in 1870. Also known as American Sebright & Sebright Cochin. Crossed with Plymouth Rock, Golden Hamburg or Cochins to achieve certain color variations.
The name came about at the Columbian (Chicago) World’s Fair in 1893 and the name holds to this date for the feather pattern. The Columbian pattern is on neck and tails while the body is mostly white. They have a broad wide body with thick legs and appear larger due to their fluffy feathers.
